Christmas 2023

A Photo Meditation

Christmas creche and poem

Olé Jesús! “Remembering the stable,” as poet W.H. Auden wrote, “where for once in our lives everything became a You and nothing was an It.”

In this photo essay, we celebrate life through the seasons in 2023: snow on saguaros, our wildflower superbloom, the harvest of juicy saguaro fruit, Katrina and the Day of the Dead.

We recall our rich year of “contemplation in action” with retreats and workshops, webinars, and Fire and Light, our monthly podcast.

And we remember with Charles Dickens, the author of The Christmas Carol: “It is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas, when its mighty Founder was a child Himself.”
